Stour Valley Lions Club and Shipston Community First Responders are joining forces to help local people gain the skills and confidence to respond in a life-threatening emergency.

Free CPR & Defibrillator Training

Save a Life – Stour Valley is a year-round programme of free CPR and defibrillator awareness training for people across the Stour Valley.

The campaign launches on National Restart a Heart Day – Friday 16 October 2026, with a free launch training session at:

Ellen Badger Hospital, Shipston-on-Stour
6.30pm – Friday 16 October 2026

Further sessions will be held at the Ellen Badger Hospital, with plans to take training into villages and local communities through village halls and other venues.

Why does it matter?

Shipston Community First Responders maintain a network of 70 defibrillators across the Stour Valley, making potentially life-saving equipment available to the community and West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Local defibrillators are currently being activated, on average, twice a month to assist people experiencing potentially life-threatening emergencies.

Knowing how to perform CPR and how and when to use a defibrillator can give someone the confidence to act in those vital first minutes before professional help arrives.

Training is completely free and is suitable for local individuals, community groups, societies, Parish Councils and other organisations.
